This joist and bearer California bungalow on a rocky, hilly sandstone site in Frenchs Forest had a steep, tight driveway which was a daily nuisance for the owners. The whole pitch of the driveway needed to be altered to make it functional so we excavated, cut, chipped, chiselled and sculpted it to get the right gradient. This then meant a new double garage could be added to the property.
In addition to the driveway, we created a new structure which complimented the style of the existing house. A self-contained ‘pod’ for an additional bedroom which joins the main home by a walkway with custom skylights for the link room. Reinforced concrete wall structures retain the sandstone while a lightweight construction makes up the top of the structure.
“What a fabulous experience we had having Steve , John and their team renovate our family home. Not only do they have a great Irish sense of humour their attention to detail and service was outstanding. Even when changes were made (by us) they were always accepting and facilitating to ensure the work and the outcome was perfect. We love our new home and would have and have had no hesitation recommending Structure Building & Renovations to anyone.” Mark & Nicole.
